HONG KONG (September 14, 2000) PacificNet.com, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a strategic alliance with V2 Technology, a leading Internet multimedia technology company in Beijing, the hub of China rapidly expanding market. Under the agreement, PacificNet.com will offer V2 Technology unique voice over internet protocol (VOIP) technology to both its e-Business consulting clients and as an optional plug-and-play module to be integrated in PacificNet.com’s eMerchant2000 software package.
V2’s VOIP technology, called the e-Support Communicator, will allow PacificNet.com clients the ability to answer their customer’s questions in real-time. Using V2’s VOIP technology, online customers will be able to communicate interactively via voice or text message with sales assistants or customer service representatives over the Internet at any time during an online transaction. The addition of V2 Technology will give PacificNet.com clients an enhanced ability to service their customers, who will complete transactions without “uncertainty after clicking the submit button.” Since online transactions are projected to grow exponentially in Asia, V2 Technology will provide first-time customers with unprecedented real-time confirmation, much like the service they are accustomed to when shopping off-line.
Under the agreement, PacificNet.com full range of e-commerce products and services including consultation, software applications, implementation, integration and training services, will be jointly marketed, promoted and sold in co-operation with V2 Technology. In addition, V2 Technology and PacificNet.com will jointly develop new e-commerce solutions that fully incorporate the use of each other’s technology.
Mr. Tony Tong, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder for PacificNet.com, said, “95% of all on-line customers require an interactive session with a customer support representative prior to the completion of an on-line purchase. The integration the V2 VOIP technology with PacificNet eMerchant2000 products further enhances the on-line shopping and support process. We are planning to use V2’s VOIP technology to provide internet-based call center service to our customers.”
Mr. Ye Bin, CEO of V2 Technology stated, “We are extremely excited about this partnership with PacificNet.com. Their solid capabilities in e-commerce consulting and software application integration coupled with our customer-focused voice technology will make B2B and B2C e-commerce as friendly as real-life.”
