Hong Kong – A year after its launch, start-up news platform House News has struck a deal with Pixel Media to sell advertising across its desktop and mobile platforms.
With immediate effect, the appointment will see Pixel Media handle advertising sales on House News’s desktop version while the mobile version (including tablets) will be handled by Pixel Media’s mobile unit, Snap mobile.
“We believe that bringing in Pixel will help boost our sales and grow our brand’s presence,” said Eve Chan, director of sales marketing of House News. Chan said House News only started selling ads on its site last month. Advertisers already include IBM, Fairwood Restaurants and and TSW Studio.
“Since our launch a year ago, we have been solely focused on serving our readers by producing the best content and harnessing the power of social media as one of our distribution platform,” said Tony Tsoi (pictured), co-founder of House News.
Winky Chan, managing director of Pixel Media, said news and media consumption over the years have evolved and continues to gravitate towards digital media platforms as the main preference for media consumption. She described House News as a pioneering model in Hong Kong and a example of how what the future of news reading looks like.
